Leaders in the Arts and Nonprofit industries are seldom researchers by training but still need to have the knowledge and tools to plan a research project and write academically about it. Once a leader has developed clear research questions and a thesis for the work, the next steps are to plan the methods for collecting data that will answer the research question(s). This session will outline how to create a research plan both from the perspective of writing and leading a project. Topics covered will include writing research questions, laying out a proper thesis/problem statement, and how to use sources to support the writer’s own thesis and analysis.
