DRAMATIC SOLUTIONS Judge Highlight – Michelle Venus

Michelle Venus is an entrepreneur and storyteller

We’re excited for our upcoming charrette style event DRAMATIC SOLUTIONS  taking place Friday, October 6th at the Community Creative Center in Fort Collins! Dramatic Solutions seeks to understand how art can be employed to solve complex world problems. This year, teams will take an in-depth look at the world refugee crisis and find humanitarian solutions to its impact on our own community. Solution presentations will go from 1-4 PM, with judging starting at 6 PM.

We have a great lineup of judges, including Michelle Venus an entrepreneur and storyteller specializing in blog articles, marketing copy, editorial, social media marketing, graphic design, audio and video production. Michelle also served as a board member for both OpenStage Theatre & Company and PopUp Theatre Company. She also spent four years as KRFC’s – Fort Collins Community Powered Radio -Development Director.

In speaking with Michelle she expressed that “I am a huge fan of the LEAP program and am happy to do whatever I can to foster the success of the program and its students. I can’t stress strongly enough how important it is to train the next generation of arts leaders.” and explained that this event is important because “Tackling big problems from several approaches is critical. An artist’s (and I use that term to include visual and performing arts) creativity is different from, say, the kind of creativity an engineer brings to the table. Or a mathematician. Or a scientist. Each perspective is important and relevant. I do believe that integrating the arts or other creative disciplines is a necessary component in learning. It adds a new dimension that is too often overlooked.”

We look forward to seeing the results! For more information visit our event page or email DramaticSolutionsLEAP@gmail.com  – This event is a drop-in, open house style event. Come and go as you please or stay as long as you like!
